Diabetic Dessert Recipes with Bananas 2: Bavarian Banana Whip
This is the second of three diabetic dessert recipes containing bananas. Bananas help to offset sodium in the body, because they contain more than twice as much potassium as sodium.
Bavarian Banana Whip
4 Servings2 packages plain (unflavored) gelatin
½ cup boiling water
2 cups evaporated skimmed milk
2 medium bananas - make sure they are ripe
Sweetener equal to 4 tsp sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp banana extract
Put the boiling water into a medium sized bowl and melt the gelatin, stirring until it is completely dissolved.
Combine remaining ingredients and put into the blender. Add gelatin mixture. Blend until smooth.
Pour into 4 individual serving bowls and chill until set.
Exchange per serving: 1 fruit, 1 milk (plus 16 calories if you use sugar/fructose).
